Hotel Financial Accountant Controller – New York, USA

We are seeking an experienced Hotel Financial Accountant Controller for a Luxury International Boutique Hotel Group with properties in North America and Europe.

The Hotel Accountant will provide financial information and support to the General Manager to ensure costs are minimized and profitability maximized. The Hotel Accountant will oversee and ensure accuracy of forecasts and financial data of the hotel. The Hotel Accountant will also be responsible for ensuring that the hotel control and accounting systems and procedures are implemented in line with company requirements. Hotel Accountant will always seek opportunities for the hotel to save money while enhancing the guest experience.

Key Areas of the role:

  • To manage the Hotel’s Finance & Accounting in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Compile and distribute daily revenue reports to the General Manager and Group Controller.
  • Reconcile cash, credit cards and cash flow on a daily basis.
  • Prepare financial analysis of hotel performance including variance explanation and make recommendations to ensure the achievement of business goals.
  • Ensure that all operational controls are implemented within the hotel, in conjunction with the General Manager.
  • Prepare detailed hotel and department budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Ensure all accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and oversee the process of credit extension and collection of overdue accounts.
  • Manage accounts payable to balance cash flow and reputation with suppliers
  • Develop and implement financial control procedures and systems? Maintain documents for audits of hotel accounts and inventories? ensure ethical accounting practices in compliance with government regulations and contractual agreements
  • Ensure that all purchasing within the hotel is carried out via purchase order system, which are signed as authorized by the General Manager.
  • To have an overall understanding of the hotel’s PMS System and the Accounting System.
  • Report directly to the General Manager and to the Group Company Controller.

Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and or a similar higher education qualification.
  • Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office, Visual One Accounting, and ADP Payroll processing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Energetic and friendly team player with a passion for the highest level of guest satisfaction

Assistant Financial Controller – Mongolia (Quick Hire)

A five star luxury international hotel requires a fully qualified, process-driven and reliable Assistant Financial Controller to support the organization and development of the finance department. You will report to the Financial Controller.

You will assist in generating hotel operating policies, administer accounting procedures with concerned departments as well as prepare monthly financial & other management reports under the advice and guidance of the Financial Controller.

Arabic speaking (opening) Director of Finance – Sultanate of Oman

A well-known Middle Eastern Group known for their luxury properties seeks a strong Director of Finance for their new resort opening soon in Oman. 
This 250 room luxury resort consisting of restaurants, lounge, large meeting/banquets and leisure facilities requires an Arabic speaking Director of Finance who will report to and assist the Cluster General Manager of Oman with the opening of this property.  
Our client seeks someone who has been a Financial Controller for 2-5 years in 5 star international brands.  This person must have progressive career experience with specialized training related to the field of the hospitality industry.  You must have the experience of signing off at least 5 Year-end Balance Sheets for the Hotel and create Five Business Plans. 

The Director of Finance will oversee all financial and accounting related activities including budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, controls and capital expenditures, and ensures company procedures and policies are being implemented and maintained throughout hotel operations. 

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional with a solid finance background and the passion for quality and excellence. You will be creative and eager to share your desire to achieve highest quality service standards with your team members. 

Important Qualifications / Skills required for this post are: 
Must be a Certified Accountant.
Fluency in English and Arabic (verbal and written) is mandatory.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/or a similar qualification.
Extensive accounting knowledge.
In-depth knowledge of modern and complex principles and practices of hotel accounting and operations.
Must be conversant with uniform system of accounting. 
Experience of Hotel’s Information Technology include Opera, Sun Accounting System, etc.
Understand Hotel Operations.
Knowledge of local laws related to accounting and risk management.
Financial, analytical and mathematical skills. 

Salary: US$5,200 net per month + all expat benefits for self and family (up to 2 children). This is a two (2) year contract.

Hotel Controller - Boutique Hotel - Toronto

We are seeking an experienced Hotel Controller for a high end and very well-known small boutique hotel property in the GTA 

Responsibilities:
- Process month end journal entries and generate financial statements
- Review and analyze monthly Financial statements
- Reconcile bank, intercompany accounts and other GL accounts
- Prepare various financial reports as needed
- Proficiency in excel is a must
- Perform full cycle of accounts payable function for operations and renovations.
- Act as a backup for payroll processing
- Work towards meeting deadlines.
- Administer internal control, policies and procedures in compliance with corporate policies and or guidelines.

Requirements:
Detail oriented and analytic
Use discretion with confidential material
Positive, team worker
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a hotel/resort accounting position
Experience in the hospitality industry is an asset
Diploma or degree in accounting required

Base salary in the range of $55,000 plus excellent company benefits

Chinese speaking Revenue Manager – Hong Kong

This new 5* luxury hotel/serviced apartment is looking for a Chinese speaking Revenue Manager, with extensive working experience in Asia and especially in Hong Kong. 

The successful candidate would be responsible for the following:   
Maximizing yield for all room reservations, ensuring up-selling during demand periods and conversion over need periods, as well as entail management of the reservations staff and time, staff training, inventory control, planning and reports generation as appropriate and forecasting.   
He/She should be confident to advise the management team of key strategies to improve revenues and will be a person who can make things happen in the organization. 

Will be accurate and give great emphasis on attention to detail.  
You will be responsible for the weekly Revenue Meeting to monitor performance and strategize for the future.  
Good Excel knowledge is required. 

You must be fluent in English and Cantonese with at least 5 years of Revenue Management experience in International luxury brands. 

Salary: Negotiable.
